Computer Science Teacher
Santiago Christian School seeks a Computer Science Teacher to be a part of a K-12 STEM program that can serve as a model and resource in the Dominican Republic. The Computer Science Teacher will be responsible for teaching assigned classes in a program of technology instruction aligned to CSTA and AP standards. This includes teaching coding skills, foundational computing concepts such as the Internet and data, and ethical implications of technology in a course sequence that culminates in AP Computer Science Principles and AP Computer Science A. The Computer Science Teacher will also assist with coaching the robotics team. The ideal candidate will be able to equip students with the skills they need to use technology proficiently and creatively and to become ethical digital citizens of an interconnected world. The candidate must demonstrate a passion for discipling students and helping fulfill the school’s mission of forming personas íntegras who reflect Jesus in character, wisdom, and influence. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree with a U.S. state teacher certification as well as evidence of an evangelical Christian faith commitment. Two years of experience is preferred, and previous international teaching experience is a plus. Basic understanding of Spanish is helpful, but not required.
