National Honor Society

The National Honor Society (NHS) and National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) chapters of Santiago Christian School are duly chartered and affiliated chapters of this prestigious international organization. Membership is open to those students who meet the required standards in four areas of evaluation: Scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

The faculty council reviews letters of recommendation and school disciplinary records to determine an applicant's commitment to serving the school and community. A majority vote of the council is necessary for selection, and candidates are notified regarding selection by letter.

SCS holds a formal induction ceremony to recognize newly selected members. Once inducted, new members must maintain exemplary performance in all four of the selection criteria. Member activities include regular group and individual community service. The SCS chapter of the NHS has a longstanding tradition of service to the community that includes in-depth involvement in our partner schools and an international dinner and talent show to raise funds for other local ministries. Through these commitments and activities, NHS members set the standard at SCS for character, wisdom, and influence.
