School Psychologist
SCS seeks an experienced school psychologist who plays a key role in helping the school carry out its mission to form personas íntegras, who reflect Jesus in character, wisdom, and influence. The School Psychologist is responsible for supporting and equipping students to succeed academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. This may include assessment of referrals, collaboration with teachers, monitoring students, one-on-one counseling and/or referrals to outside professionals as needed. Candidates must have a degree in school psychology or clinical psychology, as well as evidence of an evangelical Christian faith commitment. Successful candidates are bilingual (English and Spanish) with excellent relational skills. A master’s degree and previous experience as a school psychologist preferred.
Elementary School Principal
Santiago Christian School seeks an experienced educational leader to guide a vibrant and diverse PreK-6 community of learners. The Elementary Principal is responsible for creating a positive, safe, Christ-centered elementary school culture consistent with the school’s educational philosophy, in which students meet the curricular learning standards and achieve, in developmentally appropriate ways, the school-wide outcomes as articulated in the SCS Mission Statement and Expected Student Outcomes. The Elementary Principal fosters the success of all students by engaging in effective teacher development; assisting with hiring and induction; supporting, evaluating, and retaining quality instructional and support personnel; and employing quality performance measurement tools linked to ongoing professional development. The Elementary Principal will report directly to the Executive Director and will be an integral part of the administrative team. This is a full-time managerial position that requires a 5-year commitment.
Secondary Music Teacher
Santiago Christian School seeks a trained and visionary Secondary Music Teacher (grades 7-12) to join a dynamic team of faculty in a growing fine arts program. SCS is committed to a vision of becoming a model for excellence in the arts in the Dominican Republic. The Music Teacher will teach a variety of music classes and collaborate with a team of teacher leaders to direct a fully staged musical theater production, in addition to having optional opportunities to teach private lessons. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree with a U.S. state teacher certification as well as evidence of an evangelical Christian faith commitment. Two years of experience is preferred, and previous international teaching experience is a plus. Basic understanding of Spanish is helpful, but not required.
Secondary Bible Teacher/Chaplain
SCS has an exciting opportunity to impact lives through comprehensive student discipleship programming and spiritual care for a diverse international school community. The Bible Teacher / Chaplain plays a key leadership role in helping the school carry out its mission to form personas íntegras who reflect Jesus in character, wisdom, and influence. Responsibilities include pointing students and staff to Jesus through Bible teaching, pastoral counseling, and providing leadership for spiritual life programs.
Candidates must demonstrate a deep love for Jesus and a strong commitment to excellence in Christian education. In addition, candidates should have previous experience ministering in cross-cultural settings. A desire to work as part of a team is critical. Theological studies at the undergraduate or graduate level and fluency in English and Spanish are required. Teaching/chaplain experience and youth ministry experience are preferred.
Special Education Teacher
Santiago Christian School seeks an experienced Special Education/Learning Support Teacher who can provide research-based best practices for implementing effective support services within established guidelines and standards in the SCS Learning Support Program. The ideal candidate will love Christ, love all sorts of students, and be committed to Christian education as a vocation. Qualified candidates will be able to identify and evaluate at-risk students, communicate effectively with parents, and share expertise with teachers regarding the moderate-need students in our primarily full-inclusion model program. Successful candidates understand or have experience with English as a Second Language immersion strategies in the classroom.
