Computer Science Teacher
Santiago Christian School seeks a Computer Science/Technology teacher be a part of a K-12 STEM program that can serve as a model and resource in the Dominican Republic. The Computer Science Teacher will be responsible for teaching assigned classes in a program of technology instruction aligned to CSTA standards. This includes teaching Google Education Digital Skills, Code.org, Scratch, Python, Java, along with other basic engineering design apps for education. The ideal candidate will be able to equip students with the skills they need to use technology proficiently and creatively and to become ethical digital citizens of an interconnected world. The candidate must demonstrate a passion for discipling students and helping fulfill the school’s mission of forming personas íntegras who reflect Jesus in character, wisdom, and influence. A bachelor's degree and previous teaching experience is required
Secondary Math Teacher
Santiago Christian School seeks a Secondary Math Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. The teacher will be working with an established STEM team to continue growing the STEM program in the secondary division. The teacher will support the goal of igniting students’ passion for discovery, critical thinking, and engaging the world through mathematics as a reflection of its Creator. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree as well as evidence of an evangelical Christian faith commitment and english fluency. Two years of experience.
Associate Teacher
SCS is seeking candidates for the position of Associate Teacher in the ECE and Elementary grades PK-4th. Candidates will have evidence of an evangelical Christian faith commitment. The Associate Teacher will have a bachelor’s degree and possess or be working toward a Dominican teaching credential. The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, using English language, is required. The Associate Teacher will work closely with the Lead Teacher to assist in the education of students in a warm and nurturing environment. An ideal candidate will love students, be committed to academic excellence, and have a passion for education.
Special Education Teacher
Santiago Christian School seeks an experienced Special Education/Learning Support Teacher who can provide research-based best practices for implementing effective support services within established guidelines and standards in the SCS Learning Support Program. The ideal candidate will love Christ, love all sorts of students, and be committed to Christian education as a vocation. Qualified candidates will be able to identify and evaluate at-risk students, communicate effectively with parents, and share expertise with teachers regarding the moderate-need students in our primarily full-inclusion model program. Successful candidates understand or have experience with English as a Second Language immersion strategies in the classroom.
Elementary Teacher
SCS is seeking individuals who love students, love Jesus, and are committed to academic excellence. SCS understands the important role that educators have in shaping the hearts and minds of young students, and we desire individuals that are devoted to student learning. The individual should be a native English speaker with a degree in elementary education, a U.S. state teacher certification/licensure, and evidence of an evangelical Christian faith commitment. Candidates must be relationally focused and have the necessary skills to work in a team-based, professional learning community. Successful candidates understand or have experience with English as a Second Language immersion strategies in the classroom. Two years of experience and a master’s degree is preferred, and previous international teaching experience is a plus. Basic understanding of Spanish is helpful, but not required.
