Who We Are
Founded in 1967, Santiago Christian School provides an English-immersion, college-preparatory, PK3 to grade 12 education recognized by universities in the Dominican Republic, the United States, and beyond. Best-practices in teaching and high-quality curriculum are brought to life by faculty who come to SCS from around the world to make a difference in each child’s life. Our teachers are professionals who blend a passion for their craft with a passion for leading children to follow the teachings of Jesus.
Spiritual Care
Our discipleship and spiritual life coordinators, who have professional training in the Bible and ministry, embody SCS's commitment to spiritual care of students and staff. They provide leadership for all aspects of spiritual life on campus–the Bible curriculum, chapel, advisory program, Thursday Night Live, and staff devotions. The spiritual life coordinators are available to meet with students or staff for individual counseling and support.
Faculty and Staff
All SCS employees have a strong profession of faith and commitment to model what it means to follow Jesus. Many are involved in campus Bible studies and other local ministries, and each employee attends a local church. All SCS staff also gather before school twice a week to worship and pray together.
Accreditation and Recognition
SCS is internationally accredited in the United States by Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and by Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). SCS is recognized by the Dominican Ministry of Education as a “monolingual” school, a designation which allows us to offer English as our primary language for instruction.

Service Learning
A school-wide, multi-layered student leadership and justice development program trains students of all ages to lead like Jesus: by serving. SCS collaborates with ministries in four partner communities to build relationships that can be mutually encouraging and edifying. Students regularly serve their peers in partner ministries in surrounding communities. These community-based experiences enrich students’ learning in the classroom and help them understand biblical truths in the context of their local community. Students start and finish their high school experience with multidisciplinary justice projects designed to get them started on a lifetime journey of advocating for justice in the Dominican Republic and around the world.
Sports
Twenty-two athletics teams challenge over 200 students in soccer, basketball, futsal, and volleyball. Team sports begin in elementary school. Athletes compete with schools locally through the Liga Deportiva Colegial de Santiago (LDCS) and from across the Caribbean through the Association of Colombian and Caribbean American Schools (ACCAS).
