College Counseling

SCS is committed to helping each student throughout the college planning process by providing a comprehensive college and career curriculum. Beginning in grade 6, students work with the guidance counselor and use Naviance to set individualized curricular and extra-curricular graduation goals and track their progress toward those goals over their middle and high school years. The SCS curriculum offers students a rigorous academic program alongside abundant opportunities for participation in the arts, athletics, service, and leadership. This combination serves to make them highly successful as college candidates. As students begin their junior and senior years, the high school guidance counselor helps them assess their abilities, potential, and performance, and endeavors to recommend colleges and universities that will provide an appropriate challenge and supportive environment. SCS graduates enjoy a rich history of admission to competitive colleges in the United States, the Dominican Republic, and around the world.
