Teaching at SCS connects you with the essence of why you went into teaching in the first place: To make a difference. When you join us at SCS, you become part of a team of purpose-driven educators who want to make a tangible difference, both in the lives of their students and in the educational climate of a nation in need of educational exemplars.
An SCS diploma meets the requirements of the U.S. Department of Education and Dominican Ministry of Education, preparing graduates for university in the Dominican Republic, the United States, and around the world. Our Dominican Studies teachers are mission-minded professionals of the highest caliber who are deeply committed to pointing their students to Jesus.
Expatriates make up the largest percentage of our teaching faculty, with most positions requiring two years of teaching experience, native English, and a U.S. state teacher certification. SCS pays an adequate wage for local living with generous benefits. We understand that moving to a new country is both a sacrifice and an adventure. To help with the transition, SCS offers significant support. Initial commitments are for three years and then renewable yearly.
