Secondary School Counselor

Santiago Christian School seeks an experienced school counselor for its secondary division. The secondary school counselor plays a key role in helping the school carry out its mission to form personas íntegras, who reflect Jesus in character, wisdom, and influence. The secondary school counselor plans and organizes the delivery of the comprehensive school counseling program, including the delivery and implementation of guidance curriculum to include structured lessons and small group sessions. The secondary school counselor guides students through the development of educational plans and effectively responds to student needs through the use of individual and small group counseling, consultation, and/or referral. Candidates will support other school-wide educational programs to improve the overall success of all students.  Successful candidates are native English speakers who have excellent relational skills. Basic understanding of Spanish is helpful, but not required. Candidates must have a degree in school counseling or a related field with a US state license, as well as evidence of an evangelical Christian faith commitment. Previous international experience is a plus. Basic salary for local living is provided. The initial commitment is three years with corresponding benefits.
